Splendour In The Grass 2010 – Moshtix Re-sale FAQs

General Information

As per the terms and conditions of sale, all Splendour In The Grass tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. The ticket can only be used by the person whose name and date of birth is printed on the ticket. You cannot change the name on a ticket under any circumstances.

Those who have bought Splendour in the Grass tickets but can no longer attend, have the option to offer their tickets for re-sale until 12 Noon Tuesday 27 July.

Please note you cannot nominate a preferred purchaser for your ticket. When offering your ticket(s) for re-sale, you will be charged a re-sale fee of $20 + the booking fees paid for the original ticket. If your ticket is then sold through moshtix your ticket will be cancelled and you will be refunded the full amount paid for the tickets to the credit card used for the original purchase. You will be notified via email once the refund for a re-sold ticket has been processed. This can take up to 5-10 business days after the ticket has been re-sold.

Any refund is not guaranteed, and only occurs if/when the ticket(s) offered for resale are purchased by another person. If your ticket remains unsold after 5:00pm Tuesday 27 July, your original ticket remains valid and is deemed the property of the original purchaser. You will still be able to use your ticket to attend the festival. In this instance, the re-sale fee paid will be refunded to the credit card used for this re-sale service charge.

If you are looking to purchase extra tickets to the festival, you may do so if any tickets become available from Monday 31 May onwards, until 5:00pm Tuesday 27 July via www.moshtix.com.au. Please note, THERE WILL BE NO TICKETS AVAILABLE AT 9AM MON 31st MAY as this is the first date customers can offer their tickets for re-sale. We recommend keeping an eye on www.moshtix.com.au at various times before 5:00pm Tuesday 27th July, as tickets may become available for sale at anytime.

There will be many people wishing to purchase an event+camping ticket during the re-sale period, therefore your chances of landing one of these are very slim. If you have an event-only ticket, or are looking to purchase one we recommend looking at the alternative accommodation options available at www.splendourinthegrass.com

IMPORTANT:

Do NOT purchase tickets from unauthorised re-sellers or any online auction sites. We cannot verify these tickets are valid, and no one can change a name on a ticket. There is a good chance these tickets will be home-made counterfeits, and you will be refused entry at the venue. The festival has no sympathy and zero tolerance for anyone stupid enough to buy e-tickets from anywhere other than moshtix.

Why can't I just change the name on my ticket?

Our goal is to help event promoters ensure that as many genuine fans get to attend their events as possible. Allowing name changes on tickets doesn't prevent ticket scalping, as tickets can be "re-sold" via unofficial channels then name changes are requested by the scalper. We're sorry if this inconveniences genuine fans looking to pass tickets on to their friends.

Why can't I sell my tickets anywhere, like on eBay?

Tickets re-sold, or offered for re-sale, in an unauthorised manner will result in all tickets in the order or account being cancelled, without refund, and all ticket holders will be refused entry to the venue. This includes tickets offered for re-sale via an online auction site, such as eBay.

Can I just sell the camping part of my ticket and keep my event festival entry?

No. If you have purchased an "Event+Camping" all-in-one ticket, you can only offer the whole ticket for re-sale. If you still want to attend the festival, but you've found alternative accommodation and no longer want to camp, you may offer your ticket for re-sale, and attempt to purchase an Event-Only ticket. This is risky and not something we recommend, as you may sell your Event+Camping ticket then be unable to purchase an Event-Only ticket.

Can I upgrade my event-only ticket to an event+capming ticket?

There is no facility to do a direct "upgrade" of any event-only ticket to an event+camping ticket. Likewise, camping tickets cannot be purchased separately.

You can purchase an event+camping ticket in the resale (subject to availability of course) and put your event-only ticket up for resale, but please be warned that you run the risk of not being able to resell your event-only ticket, which means you will not get your money back for that ticket (as funds for any tickets resold are only credited to the seller's card when that ticket is purchased by another party).

It is also worth remembering that a ticket-holder cannot nominate another person’s name and date of birth details to go onto any unwanted or unsold ticket. In other words, there is a risk that you could be left with two tickets in your name.

What does this service cost?

To offer your tickets for re-sale, you will be charged an administration fee of $20 per ticket plus the booking fees paid for the original ticket. The re-sale fee service charges for each ticket type are:

Event-Only ticket: $30.25 re-sale service charge ($20 re-sale fee + $10.20 booking fee)
Event-Only Carbon Offset ticket: $30.25 re-sale service charge ($20 re-sale fee + $10.25 booking fee)
Event+Camping ticket: $31.80 re-sale service charge ($20 re-sale fee + $11.80 booking fee)
Event+Camping Carbon Offset ticket: $31.85 re-sale service charge ($20 re-sale fee + $11.85 booking fee)

If/when your ticket is re-sold, you will receive a refund for the full amount paid for the original ticket.

I bought a carbon offset. Can I get this money back?

Yes. If/when placing your ticket(s) are re-sold, you will receive a refund for the full amount paid for the original ticket(s), including the carbon off-set component.

When do I get my money back?

This happens if/when another customer purchases your ticket(s) offered for re-sale. Until they are resold, the tickets remain your property and no funds are owed to you. Refunds may take up to 5-10 business days to be processed, as this depends on the speed at which your bank credits your funds back to you. If you log back into your moshfile, you can view the status of your ticket(s).

What happens if my tickets don't sell?

If your tickets remain unsold when the re-sale closes at 5:00pm Tuesday 27 July, they will be valid for entry to the event, as per your original purchase.

Can I sell the tickets at a discount if I want to make sure they sell?

No. Tickets are only offered for re-sale at face value.

How far in advance of the event / how close to the event can I resell tickets?

You are able to offer your tickets for re-sale until 12 Noon, Tuesday 27 July. Customers then have up until 5:00pm to purchase tickets offered for re-sale. No refunds, exchanges, re-sales or name changes can be made after this time.

Why can't I sell tickets I bought from other outlets via moshtix Splendour In The Grass re-sale?

We can only offer the re-sale service when tickets were originally bought via moshtix for Splendour In The Grass. The original barcode on the ticket is cancelled from our moshtix database, and a new ticket issued, when they are resold.

Buyers' FAQ

I missed out on tickets when they went on sale, is there anyway I can still buy a ticket?

How can I be sure that I'm buying a genuine ticket?

moshtix offers this service with the official endorsement of the event promoter. Any tickets available via moshtix were originally purchased via moshtix as barcoded print@home tickets. Once your purchase is approved you will be issued tickets with a brand new barcode so the previous buyer no longer has valid tickets.

If I buy a re-sold ticket via moshtix, will it have my name on it?

Tickets purchased via moshtix work exactly the same way as those originally sold to the event via moshtix. This means that whenever an event promoter has required us to collect name and/or date of birth information for each ticket, this information will also be required for tickets purchased via the re-sale.

If I buy a ticket on via the re-sale, can I also resell it on moshtix later?

Yes. Please read the Sellers FAQ and the Terms and Conditions of Use of this service for full details.
