ORIGIN NYE SECOND ANNOUCEMENT!!!

Just added CASSIUS, BLOC PARTY Dj set & SAM SPARRO Dj set.

Origin 2009 at Steel Blue Oval in Bassendean will have four stages of sick sounds supplied by an unprecedented array of international hip hop, house, electro, drum n bass and dubstep acts, booze, BIG sound and bass, and even buses running to and from the venue on the night. Basically, there will be no better place to be this NYE!!

Headlining this enormous event will be none other than METHOD MAN from the Wu Tang Clan, alongside his long time partner in rhyme, weed and grime REDMAN. Both of these bad boys will be making only their second appearance in Perth ever, and for the first time in over four years.

They say birds of a feather flock together, and as such beats that break belong together. Further refining their recipe for wreaking aural havoc with a host of hot acts rarely seen sharing a stage, this year KNOWLEDGE MUSIC has organised an ORIGIN so huge that it has its own gravitational field one so strong that whole other genres were drawn into its orbit. Resistance is indeed futile, and heres why:

// Hip hop is a global game these days, and Knowledge both acknowledges and champions this fact by bringing together some of the best acts from Australia, the UK and the US of A: say hello to Bliss & Eso, Dilated Peoples, Roots Manuva and Ugly Duckling.

// Drum n Bass devotees have a broad spectrum on offer in the form of top shelf acts LTJ BUKEM & MC CONRAD, ED RUSH & OPTICAL, MARKY, as well as rising stars SPECTRASOUL and XAMPLE.

//French Electro kings CASSIUS will be in tow showcasing some of the finest beats in the scene today. Having collaborated with the likes of Bob Sinclar and Wu Tang Clan Member Ghostface Killah, and remixing tracks for Daft Punk, Cassius are sure to be a show stopper.

// Legendary London kids BLOC PARTY will be doing a DJ set along with one of Australias finest exports SAM SPARRO who will be gracing the stage showcasing his unique Dj style to get the masses up and dancing.

// For something more than a little bit slower, but in no way softer, SKREAM & BENGA return to Origin, and they will be joined by DISTANCE, JOKER, HATCHA and hometown queen KITO.

// This years sonic smorgasbord doesnt even stay within the confines of these sister scenes, as theres even more of those seductive life spices served up for extra variety and value, with AMPFIDDLER, the BAG RAIDERS, CASSIUS and THUNDERHEIST also set to be here to ring in the new year.
