THE VEILS & OH MERCY

Australians have had a long distance love affair with The Veils since the release of their debut album The Runaway Found and then with the Triple J anthem Advice For Young Mothers To Be from the Nux Vomica album. The last Australian tour saw the band sell out shows in Melbourne and Sydney.

The Veils are Finn Andrews, (vocals, guitar, piano, New Zealand) Sophia Burn, (bass, New Zealand) Dan Raishbrook (guitar, odd noise, England) and Raife Burchell (drums, England).

Finns father Barry Andrews was a founding member of the highly influential group XTC in the late 1970s, later going on to tour with the likes of Robert Fripp & Brian Eno, Iggy Pop & David Bowie.

In Sun Gangs The Veils have brought Finns early influences full circle, and created a record that truly lives up to the huge promise and talent that they have always exhibited. Their live shows continue to receive rave reviews throughout the world, with the LA Times recently posting

"as far as their set last night went, it was probably the most moving, unsettling and unexpectedly haunting thing I've seen in rock music this year terrifying in all the best ways."
