Event Details

Pinegrove are a band in constant motion. Since the release of their 2016 break-out album Cardinal on Run For Cover Records, the Montclair, New Jersey group have toured relentlessly, selling out shows across the world and appeared at festivals such as Newport Folk Festival, Pitchfork and Panorama. Cardinal won widespread acclaim from NPR, The New York Times, The Guardian, Pitchfork, Stereogum, Paste, SPIN and a host of other widely regarded publications. Pinegrove have also released a slew of live recordings and compilations to benefit various non-profits, and numerous video diaries documenting their touring and most recently, their recording process for the follow-up to Cardinal.

Currently in the midst of a fall tour that takes them across North America and over to Europe, they are excited to announce a headlining UK/European tour in March of 2018 with special guest Phoebe Bridgers (all tour dates below) and their first ever Australian dates, also in March.

Although more news and details on their forthcoming record will be announced soon, Pinegrove are excited to share one of the new tracks with their fans to celebrate wrapping up the new album. Those who have seen them live over the past year may recognise 'Intrepid', a languid paean to long-distance relationships and the personal growth that results from them. "One of the things this album explores is the emotional and creative experience of geometric space," explains the band's Evan Stephens Hall. "'Intrepid', in particular, considers distance and the outer rim of the magnet's pull; how the size of the world can bring our personal relationships into focus."

"Cardinal recalls some of the most consistently likeable rock bands of the past 20 years in their most easygoing phases: There's the rootsy shamble of early Wilco, the wiggly guitar solos and general guilelessness of pre-prog Built to Spill. But beneath the amiable surface is an intense work about one of the most important things imaginable: how to make our friendships really matter." - Pitchfork, 8.0/10

"[Cardinal is a] crazy good album... that should be treated as [a] cornerstone... full of all the sentiments you don't know how much you need to hear until they sink in." - Noisey

"An album punchy and pithy enough to give indie-boy solipsism a good name." - The Independent
