We've been buzzing with excitement for months in anticipation for this one and while we've been dropping hints all over the place we're finally and officially announcing the Australian debuts of Peggy Gou annnnd A Love From Outer Space!

Peggy's been on our radar since her mixes starting appearing on Soundcloud and we've loved watching her blow up. In 2016 alone she released four records on Technicolour, Rekids (Official) and Phonica Records White and has since received high praise from The Guardian,Mixmag, Stamp The Wax and XLR8R. She's been remixed by Terekkeand Galcher Lustwerk and can name Highlife artist Esa and Italian duo Nu Guinea as her mentors. And THAT'S why she's the most talked aboutnewcomer of the past year.

While our teen years saw us exiled to our bedrooms, Peggy spent hers in exile in London studying fashion and working at Phonica. It was here that she began to dig deeper into the underground and where she found the music that she loved. Now based in Berlin, she describes the city as giving her music tastes a bit of an upgrade and has just spent the Summer playing all the important festivals around Europe. Her DJ sets have been described as an "assured, kinetic combination of dark, pulsing house and techno, broken beat and abstract composition" so we'll definitely be posting a bunch of our favourite Peggy mixes as we count down the days to her debut.

A Love From Outer Space

A residency at Stoke Newington's The Waiting Room in 2010 was just the beginning for A Love from Outer Space. A shared loved of many things mid-tempo, their sound draws influence from driving disco baselines, ambient kosmische soundscapes, experimental house and everything in-between. From this journey of sound, grew the beginnings of A Love From Outer Space (ALFOS) club night, which has found its new home at The Art School.

What started as a shared love of music and experimental curiosities has mutated into a worldwide phenomenon and gone on to influence a whole new wave of producers and DJs. Andrew Weatherall and Sean Johnston have taken their 'oasis of slowness' outside the club on multiple tours across the UK, numerous festival slots such as Electric Elephant and more recently saw them closing out Andrew Weatherall's own festival 'Convenanza'.

A Love From Outer Space isn't an exercise in rose-tinted retrospection or self-applauding egotism. This is a clear stretching of selection which journeys further, towards the peripheries, giving new life to old, leftfield eccentricities and airing the young and recent in proximity, with finely judged style.

So bring your giraffes, bring your shoes, bring a cheer for Andrew Weatherall and Sean Johnston and we'll see you on the floor!
