Join Sydney's premier gospel choir, Café of the Gate of Salvation as we take you on a soul-stirring gospel and soul evening, with special guest, the incomparable, Tina Harrod, and supported by our Heavenly Band.

From traditional a cappella James Cleveland gospel, to band-driven Sam Cooke and Aretha Franklin, we'll take you to the river, quench your soul and electrify your spirit with our delectable gospel and soul selection - come on down and be revived!

We are delighted to have Tina Harrod, described by Bruce Elder, as "Australia's answer to Aretha Franklin", joining us on stage. Tina has released a string of standout albums in the last few years, with her most recent "The Revolution is Eternal" lauded as "a miracle" by Arne Sjostedt of the SMH.

The "Caf " has performed continuously since it started in1986, and has featured at numberless events, including Womadelaide, Melbourne International Festival, the Brisbane Biennale and other prestigious festivals. It has toured the United States, singing to much acclaim in churches in Harlem (New York), Birmingham (Alabama), and New Orleans, and has also toured extensively around Australia and in New Zealand. The choir makes a point of performing for worthwhile causes as part of its annual program, and has released 4 CDs to date. Following the launch of the 3rd CD, at The Basement, John Shand remarked upon "the thrilling power of their steeping harmonies and spire-sharp rhythmic cohesion".

Some Dinner & Show Bookings may be on a shared table. Please let us know at the time of the booking as a special request should you prefer not to share, and subject to availability we'll do our best to accommodate your request. Note it is not possible to join ticket holders together across ticket groups (meaning A Reserve ticket holders cannot sit with B Reserve etc).
